Full House actor John Stamos may be a Hollywood celebrity, but he clearly respects the country that has given so many opportunities and he reveres members of the military and military families for the sacrifices they have made protecting America’s freedoms.
Stamos recently had the honor of hosting the annual patriotic concert A Capitol Fourth, which was broadcast on television. When he heard that there would be numerous military families in attendance at the concert, Stamos arranged for a touching gift to be given to one lucky family.
During the show, Stamos played the drums with legendary group the Beach Boys one a new, custom red, white and blue drum kit manufactured by Ludwig. Said John about the Ludwig drum set, “Ludwig was the drum set I always dreamed of having as a kid. Buddy Rich was an inspiration to me and when I started playing. I wanted to be just like him, (and) he played Ludwig. I didn’t turn out to be Buddy Rich, but I love having drums like him.”
Stamos selected the son of retired Marine Corps Master Sgt. Mike Schneider to be the recipient of this valuable drum set. Schneider suffered epilepsy as a result of brain injuries he received during his service. He took part in the music therapy program while getting treated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
Mike’s son defied the odds and made his middle school’s band despite having nervous system disorder neurofibromatosis. Now he will have the new Ludwig drum kit to practice on. Commented Young Conservatives’ Nickarama, “John Stamos has always been a patriotic guy. But what he did for a Marine and his family over July 4th was a truly beautiful thing. What a very special gift to such a deserving family. Thank you, John Stamos, and thank you, Sgt. Schneider, for your service! May you and your family truly enjoy such a precious gift.” Are you glad Stamos honored our veterans like this?
